AirAsia offers extra flexibility for business travellers
Launches trial of WI-FI product BUSINESS travellers will enjoy further flexibility, convenience and comfort with a new Premium Flex service unveiled by leading low cost carrier AirAsia. AirAsia’s Premium Flex service offers guests the flexibility to change their flight up to two (2) times with no change fee, complimentary 20kg baggage allowance, express boarding and express baggage and other perks. In addition, AirAsia will be rolling out a range of Wi-Fi products including access to Instant Messaging, emails and content streaming for all passengers by the end of the year. AirAsia Group CEO Tony Fernandes said it was important to keep innovating and improving products and services to remain cutting-edge. “Ancillary income contributes around 20 per cent our revenue and we are determined to boost this further with new products and services. The flexibility and other perks of the Premium Flex service are designed to provide a travel experience with high satisfaction standards which I am confident will be a hit,” Mr Fernandes said. He said the new Wi-Fi equipment had been five years in the making. “The Wi-Fi equipment that was introduced to us much earlier was just too expensive and we have decided to develop our own. In true AirAsia style, we have to get it right and provide our guests with the best value at the most affordable rates. It will be the first on-board Wi-Fi product in the world with an affordable pricing system,” he said. Premium Flex will be available for all AirAsia flights (except for Sri Lanka) and flight changes are available up to two hours before the scheduled time of departure of the original flight and at least three (3) hours before the scheduled time of departure of the new AirAsia flight and four (4) hours before the scheduled time of the new AirAsia X flight. The change can be performed via the internet at www.airasia.com, mobile and all AirAsia official offline booking channels. Changes to flight date or time are permitted twice and subject to fare difference if any. For the next two months, AirAsia will be providing 60 guests on each flight with the opportunity to participate in a free user test.
